We Boomers are at more risk of contracting and dying from the COVID – 19 virus. That is a given. We also, as a group, have more underlying health risk factors that can severely complicate the treatment of the virus. We must be careful, more careful than other generations. We understand that.

Even with that understanding, we also have the understanding that we have already seen and been through a lot in our lifetime. We are not at ease before the virus, but we are no scared to death.

Even before this virus, we were witnessing some of our generation preseeding us to the grave. But, for younger people to say this COVID-19 is a Boomer Remover, that is going way too far. If other generations are rejoicing because the virus is taking some of us down, we will wish them health and inform them that we will not go down easily.

Below are a few articles that will bring you up to speed on this Boomer Remover and COVID-19 talk.

“The term has appeared in more than 65,000 tweets and references the higher mortality rate among older people infected with COVID-19—particularly among people over 60, including the Boomer Baby age cohort approximately between the ages of 56 and 74.” https://www.newsweek.com/boomer-remover-meme-trends-virus-coronavirus-social-media-covid-19-baby-boomers-1492190

“Young people are now telling them that their time, more specifically, the time of their ideas, is over, and they should stop trying to run the world.” https://theprint.in/opinion/pov/covid-19-a-boomer-remover-why-millennials-are-angry-and-done-with-older-generation/381223/

““Not just old people: Younger adults are also getting the coronavirus,” a news network declared on its website last week. The words seemed to suggest that Covid-19 didn’t matter much if it was a scourge only among the old.” https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/22/opinion/coronavirus-elderly.html
